Golf in Northern Utah – Where the Mountains Meet the Greens

Playing golf in northern Utah during the spring is a unique and refreshing experience that combines dramatic landscapes, crisp mountain air, and the excitement of the season’s first rounds. As the snow melts from the Wasatch Range, fairways and greens start to emerge in vibrant shades of green, contrasting beautifully with the lingering white peaks in the distance. This seasonal transition creates some of the most picturesque backdrops you’ll find on any course, making spring golf in this region a visual treat as much as a sporting one.

The weather in northern Utah during the spring can be a bit unpredictable, with warm, sunny days often interrupted by sudden rain showers or the occasional chilly breeze. But for many golfers, that’s part of the charm. Courses tend to be less crowded early in the season, giving players a more relaxed pace of play and the chance to ease back into their swing after a long winter.

What also sets northern Utah apart is its elevation and terrain. Courses here often feature dramatic elevation changes, challenging doglegs, and creative layouts that take full advantage of the natural topography. In the spring, the softer fairways and slightly slower greens due to thawing ground can help balance out some of the challenge, offering forgiving conditions for players shaking off winter rust. And with so many great courses within a short drive, spring is just the start of what can be a long and rewarding golf season in the Beehive State.

There are many areas within northern Utah that we will cover this year, but for this April issue we will focus on golf courses found in Cache Valley and areas in and near Logan.
