Golf In Eastern Utah – Dramatic Landscapes & Rich History

Eastern Utah is a region known for its dramatic landscapes, outdoor recreation opportunities, and rich Native American and pioneer history. It is less populated than the western side of the state, offering more remote, wild terrain. Much of Eastern Utah is part of the Colorado Plateau, featuring red rock formations, expansive desert landscapes, and deep canyons.

Notable Areas:
Arches National Park: Famous for its natural sandstone arches near Moab.
Canyonlands National Park: A vast wilderness of canyons, mesas, and buttes carved by the Colorado and Green Rivers.
Dinosaur National Monument: Straddles the Utah-Colorado
border, known for dinosaur fossils and petroglyphs.
San Rafael Swell: A rugged geological feature with slot canyons, cliffs, and remote hiking routes.
Book Cliffs: A prominent escarpment stretching across Eastern Utah into Colorado.

While the area is known for its amazing outdoor recreation including hiking, backpacking, biking, rock climbing, and canyoneering, there are several golf courses to include in your trip activities. Golf in Eastern Utah is a more low-key and scenic experience compared to the more developed golf scenes in the rest of the state. The region offers several well-maintained courses that showcase the unique desert and high desert landscapes — often with red rock backdrops, dramatic elevation changes, and fewer crowds.
