Central Utah is known for its rugged natural beauty, small towns, and strong sense of rural community. You will find everything from high mountain ranges (like the Wasatch Plateau and Fishlake National Forest) to red rock canyons, sagebrush deserts, and open valleys. The area is quieter and less developed than the greater Salt Lake City area to the north, offering a slower pace of life with abundant outdoor adventure and, of course, golf.
Notable Areas:
Capitol Reef National Park: One of Utah’s Mighty Five national parks, featuring a 100-mile long warp in the Earth’s crust. Enjoy colorful layers of rock, slot canyons, domes, and cliffs.
Fishlake National Forest: A stunning, but lesser-known area of Utah, boasting alpine forests, vast lakes, lava fields, and high mountain plateaus.
San Rafael Swell: A rugged geological feature with slot canyons, cliffs, and remote hiking routes.
Millard Country: Known for its lava fields and Clear Lake bird refuge
While the density of courses in Central Utah is much less than more developed areas, the courses here are known for beautiful mountain and valley settings, low green fees, and uncrowded fairways.
